Twin Tigers
Summary by Kathryn Durfee
The shoegaze band Twin Tigers came together in 2007 when Matthew Rain and Aimee Morris began writing songs in their basement. Similar to Jesus and Mary Chain and Deerhunter, Twin Tigers produces songs that are psychedelic, acoustic, and similar to "tape music." Their album, released in June of 2008, features lush guitar, textured percussion, and layered vocals. Enoch Bledsoe rounds out the band’s steady enrollment.
This will be Twin Tiger's first year at Athens PopFest.
Five Questions with Twin Tigers
1. What are your five desert island records?
We would ride it out with some Beatles and Neil Young. Maybe some Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.

Psychedelic rock 'n roll; roaring white noise and hissing tapes; drumming.
3. What is your favorite place to play, and why?
We love the Caledonia Lounge because its fun to pack it out with sweaty, smelly townies.
4. What is the weirdest thing you take on tour?
Probably our pet goat, Herbert.
5. What should people expect from your Athens PopFest performance?
It'll kind of be like a ladies night at the roller rink.
