Spring Tigers

Athens’ own Spring Tigers were formed by the creative energy of band leader Kris Barratt who originally found his way to Athens when his former band, The Capes, came though on a US tour. Barratt, a UK native, fell in love with the town and decided to stay.

Although the songs which make up a typical Spring Tigers set were originally envisioned by Barratt working alone at his home, they fit very well into a full band format. The band plays a familiar blend of classic brit-pop that will find fans among admirers of The Kinks and Blur. For a band so bent of infusing each song with melody and harmony Spring Tigers remains nothing but a fully fledged rock and roll band when on stage.

Managed by the same person who manages the Killers and in the process of finalizing a US and UK record deal, the future seems positive for the band. This year marks the first time Spring Tigers have performed at the Athens PopFest.
