Panda Riot

Panda Riot came together in July of 2005 as members Brian Cook, Rebecca Scott, and a drum machine were working on a short film. Scenes from their film inspired a "swirl-pop, sonar sort of aesthetic" that they enjoyed enough to make a band out of it. They've added bassist Justin and are currently playing shows in Chicago while working on a new record.
This will be Panda Riot's first year at Athens PopFest.

What are your five desert island records?
Modest Mouse- This is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about.

Could you classify your sound for people who haven't heard it before?
I’d say dancey textured noise that will make you stop staring at your shoes.
3. What is your favorite place to play, and why?
Abbey Pub in Chicago. They are a good host and generous with complementary beers/etc.
What is the weirdest thing you take on tour?
Our pocket sized unicorn Francis
What should people expect from your Athens PopFest performance?
They should expect nothing less than love.
