So Say We All: The Battlestar Galactica Blog Carnival, vol. 3

by Len Neighbors
04.22.2008

This week's Battlestar Galactica episode, "The Ties That Bind," ended with Tory doing to Cally what I wish Roslin had done to Baltar roughly twenty minutes into the pilot.  Yep, airlock. And everyone seems to be writing about it.

Paul Levinson tells us what we learned about the secret Cylons  --  that they are both just like any other Cylon, but also just like any other human. Check it out, in Battlestar Galactica 4.3: Deaths, Lessons, Questions, posted at Paul Levinson's Infinite Regress.

MaryAnn Johanson over at Flickphilosopher is pondering the question, too: does Cally's murder make Tory more Cylon or more human?

And if it makes Tory more Cylon, what do we call that?  Amy Vernon over at Remote Access has a few suggestions: Cylonocity, Cylonness, Cylonism. Maybe one day BSG will be nerdy enough to need a "Canon" and we can argue about what the official term should be.

Remote Access also has video of Cavil's duplicitous negotiation with the Sixes and Eights, which is always fun.  Where does she get all that marvelous media?

And what about the victim? Ms. Smarty Pants didn’t know this one: Cally’s not a Cylon. Or is she? She discusses the life and times of Cally (and how Cally just flat-out annoyed her) at BSG: Oh, Cally, posted at Ms. Smarty Pants Know It All.

Maybe the humans have corrupted the Cylons! Roberta brings BSG back to the beginning and discusses how the Cylons just may have been around the humans for too long. Read about it at Battlestar Galactica - have we gone the full circle?, posted at Couch Slobs.

Here at Athens Exchange, I am still wondering how big your Daddy Issues have to be to leave the military when your species is on the verge of extinction.  Get that man a Viper... and some therapy.

I'm guesthosting "So Say We All" this week, thanks to the kindness of Amy Vernon over at Remote Access.  She normally puts the posts in order of submission, but that's just too much math for me.
