02/11/2010 Just in time for Valentine's Day, there are a bunch of romantic titles hitting the shelves this week, albeit some pretty unmemorable ones. Also included are a thriller that’s pretty much by the book, a comedy series with Jay Mohr at front and center, and a recent Best Picture nominee from the Coen Brothers, one that easily ranks among their all-time best. "Couples Retreat" - couples go to a tropical island resort in an attempt to save their relationships. (DVD FEATURES): Gary Unhinged (blooper reel); Tuesday on the Set with Jay; Planet Begley; The Chemistry of Comedy “I Hate Valentine’s Day” - a florist and a restaurateur develop a relationship. (DVD/BLU-RAY FEATURES): commentary; trailer “A Serious Man” - life begins to get extremely complicated for a physics professor after a student offers him a bribe, his wife announces her plans to leave him, and his strange brother continues to cause problems. (DVD FEATURES): Becoming Serious; Creating 1967; Hebrew and Yiddish for Goys (BLU-RAY FEATURES): same as DVD, plus My Scenes and BD Live “The Stepfather” - a boy thinks his new dad may be a serial killer. (DVD FEATURES): commentary with actors Penn Badgley and Dylan Walsh and director Nelson McCormick; Open House (making the film); Visualizing the Stunts; gag reel; Too Friendly (BLU-RAY FEATURES): same as DVD, plus movieIQ and BD-Live “The Time Traveler’s Wife” - a librarian tries to build a relationship with the woman he loves despite the fact that he constantly moves through time.
