Don't Let Gas Prices Ruin The Season

As signs of summer finally begin to appear, one word threatens the very carefree and much anticipated aura surrounding the short summer days - gas!
Gas prices in Georgia have already surpassed $4 and will continue to rise as individuals are gearing up to take summer vacations to beaches and parks across the nation. Who knew that driving could become such a nightmare?
Whether one follows the increasing cost of gas, individuals must accept the hard fact... gas isn’t cheap and it isn’t getting cheaper any time soon!
The truth hurts especially for college students. Why?
Students are broke; therefore gas is becoming a much larger concern for colleges across the nation.
And whether individuals are concerned about the environment or not, cutting back on driving is becoming a major priority for everyone. As gas prices are continuing to rise at astronomical rates, students can take steps to reduce the burden of prices.
How?
The first step is to cut back.
As obvious as it seems, not enough individuals are doing so.
Walk or ride a bike to campus.
If you can’t walk, drive the shortest distance that you can.
Get a parking pass that is closer to your apartment opposed to buying a parking pass that is at the center of campus.
Once you are parked in the outskirts of campus, proceed to walk or bike from there.
You will probably pay less for your parking pass and more importantly, much less on gas.
Second tip, carpool!
Don’t go out to eat or shop unless you have a good amount of people in your car... then split the cost of gas weekly.
Driving separately to one location is not smart.
It eventually adds up!
This small tactic will save you and your friends a large chunk of cash.
Third, don’t let gas be end of a good summer!
There are loads of things to do that require little or no driving.
One can lounge around an apartment pool or have a barbeque in the backyard with your roommates instead of driving to the mall or a theme park.
Summer just started—don’t let a little bad gas ruin a good thing.
