5-hour Energy Drink: A Quick Bolt In Half The Time

“Feel it in minutes; lasts for hours,” is the slogan splashed across the distinctive miniature bottle of 5-hour Energy, advertised abundantly as an energy drink unlike anything currently on the market. While many consumers might expect this product to give the same, barely noticeable, effects as many other energy enhancers available, 5-hour Energy's results were surprisingly effective. As stated on that back, the “vitamin supplement” contains about as much caffeine as a cup of coffee, yet without the potent stale after-breath commonly associated with the usual caffeine fix.
After ingesting the lemon-lime flavored liquid, which would fill hardly more than a shot-glass, no jitters came but a surprising jumpstart did instill within minutes. However, this was on a stressfree day after a good night’s sleep. In giving the energy “shot” a second go-around after a restless night, the “5-hour” boost had a more minimal effect, and would perhaps require more than one serving to last the entire five hours its producers so adamantly advertise.
While this two-ounce, sugar-free product contains zero net carbohydrates, and only four calories, it boasts a vitamin supply containing Vitamins B12, B6 and Folic Acid.
The label admits that individual results may vary, but even a slight boost is better than being woken up at your desk by your boss. Its effects are nothing a latte or a Red Bull can’t handle, but it does so in a fourth of the time.
Despite the countless number of energy drinks, supplements and even energy-releasing gum, there is a good chance that this product is here to stay.
