Athens Salons Offer Diversity And Experience

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been a little nervous to try out a new salon, new stylist, new products, and ultimately a new look. I’ve been tempted many times to take the plunge and stop by one of Athens’ salons for a cut and possibly color, but I could never decide which would truly be right for me.
I was pretty excited to investigate four of Athens’ salon hot spots in order to gain some comfort level with the town’s best cutteries. I set out on a sunny Friday afternoon, not really knowing what to expect from Bob Salon, Rage Hair Studio, City Salon and Spa, or Republic Salon. I am happy to report, however, that I was pleasantly surprised with each stop I made.
First of all, every salon had excellent customer service. I was always met with a smile and a handshake (and even an offer for a drink from Republic), which made me feel welcome and comfortable, a must for developing a new relationship with any hair salon. Bob Salon even stresses on their website and salon “menu” that customer service is their most important goal, from the first phone call to the last swirl of the chair.
Second, I was surprised to learn exactly how much experience many of the stylists had. Every salon has a senior stylist with at least 6 years of experience, and Rage Hair Studio was proud to say that two of their stylists have over 25 years experience. Even the newest stylists still have a year or so under their belt, and of course oodles of training on everything from the newest trends to hairstyle classics.
Third, each and every studio had stunning spaces and wonderful locations. City Salon, located on the West side, was a nice break from the hectic Athens traffic, while Republic’s view of downtown was absolutely gorgeous, especially on a care-free Friday afternoon.
Fourth, the clientele was diverse in age, gender, and appearance, which assured me that anybody could find a stylist and look that suited them. So boys, don’t be scared or ashamed to go under the shears at any of these salons, you won’t be alone.
Finally, everyone I spoke with was proud their salon. They stood by their stylists, their products, their services, and their expertise. It was comforting to know that whichever salon I chose, I would be in the hands of confident, creative, and extremely talented stylists.
So, did I find which salon was right for me? Well, I guess you could say that, because really, they all were. I would trust my hair with each and every one of the salons I visited. We all have individual preferences, so I’ve compiled a quick facts sheet for you to refer to while making your decision.
Don’t be afraid to call them and ask additional questions, check out their stylist bios before making a decision, or bring pictures of the look or cut you want to your appointment, because these salons truly do want to make you look and feel your best. Now, it’s time to sit back, relax, and discover a new look, a new sense of confidence, and a new you! Enjoy!
